Downloading Files

Q: I cannot view a PDF file from the website. What do I do?
A: You must have Adobe's Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded from Adobe's website.

A: In some cases, the size of the file can prevent your web browser from properly opening a file. Try downloading the PDF file directly to your computer by right-clicking on the link of the PDF and specifying a location on your computer where the file should be saved.

Q: I would like to view an Excel file but do not have Microsoft Excel/Office on my computer. What do I do?
A: CERA tables are created in Microsoft Excel. Users of older versions of Excel and non-Excel users can use a free utility called "Excel Spreadsheet Viewer" that allows anyone to view and print Excel spreadsheets on their computer. Simply download the program from Microsoft's website and follow the installation instructions.

Multimedia Conference Calls

Q: When I'm watching a multimedia conference call, sometimes the slides don't advance with the presentation. What do I do?
A: Before you log into a conference, clear your browser's cache. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options. Click the General tab. Under History, change the number of days that the History list keeps track of your pages. To empty the History folder, click Clear History. This will temporarily free up disk space on your computer.

Be sure that you are connecting at a minimum speed of 56K, close all applications other than your browser, and disable your screen saver.

Q: I can't log on to the presentation. What do I do?
A: Be sure that your corporate firewall is java enabled. Verify this with your help desk. Verify that you have the correct URL, meeting ID, and meeting key. This information is available to you in the CERA Conference Call notification email or on cera.com under the Advisory Service's Conference Call page. If you have taken all of these precautions and are still unable to log in 30 minutes prior to start time, please dial into the audio portion of the call 15 minutes prior to start time and press *0 (in the US) for technical assistance.
